The Status Byte

As shown in Figure 4-1, the Status Byte register is the highest-level register in

the status structure. This register contains bits which summarize information

from the other status groups.

NOTE The bits in the other status group registers must be specifically enabled to be

reported in the Status Byte register. Refer to "Unmasking Standard Event Status

Bits" (later in this chapter) for more information.
