4 Operating the 8000
Following is a description of the Manual Operations screen options:
Manual Operation Option 6 Syringe/Filter
From the Manual Operations screen, select option 6, Syringe/Filter. The
Operate Syringe/ Filter Changer screen displays.

Option Function
1 Lift Valves Select option 1, Lift Valves, to raise the valve needles if lowered.
2 Lower Valves Select option 2, Lower Valves, to lower the valve needles if raised.
3 Open/Close Valves Select option 3, Open/Close Valves, to toggle the valves open and closed.
4 Goto Rows Select option 4, Goto Rows, to move the 8000 dispensing arm to a specific row.
Enter a row number. The dispensing arm moves to the indicated row and stops.
If the moving alert is enabled, the alarm sounds when the dispensing arm
moves. To disable the alert, see MENU > 0 > B under “Hidden Key
Functions” on page 41.
5 Turn On (Off) R-M
Pump
Ensure
TURN ON R-M PUMP displays as option 5. This indicates the replacement
media option is disabled. If TURN OFF R-M PUMP displays, select option 5. TURN
ON R-M PUMP displays.
Note: The replacement media option must be disabled or the instrument will not
operate properly.
6 Syringe/Filter (syringe
pump only)
Use this option to manually control the syringe pump and filter changer as
applicable. See “Manual Operation Option 6 - Syringe/Filter” below.
